Eligibility

The competition is open to all Australian  Indigenous school students (K-12) in New South Wales Australia.

Entry may be individual or for Kindergarten to Year 3, in groups of three or more students one of whom must identify as Australian Indigenous

The Class Supervisor assures that the entry of a Poem, Short Story or Plays for all entries is the students’ own work.

Group Entry

The Group section of the competition is open to students from Kindy to Year 3. A  Group comprises of three or more students, one of whom must identify as Aboriginal.

The Group competition is offered to support Aboriginal students working together with their classmates to develop a shared story, poem or play.

In the early years of schools group work is encouraged and the AEC would like to support this learning approach. As long a one member of the class identifies as Aboriginal the work will be accepted.

The prizes are awarded on a class by class basis. Schools are free to enter as many stories, poems or plays as they like for each class Kindergarten to Year 3 class.

Individual Entry

Individual Entry is open to all Aboriginal Students in NSW Schools.

Each Student is free to enter as many times as they like and submit entries in any one or all three categories.

The Individual must be of Aboriginal descent

Who can enter this competition?

This competition is open to all Indigenous Austrlian School Students from Years K – 12 in NSW .

What can I enter in this competition?

A student may submit their work in the form of a Poem, Story or a Play.

Can we Work together?

Group Competition is only opened to Years K – 3.

Groups of three or more students must be supervised by an adult who acts as the Project Supervisor.

The Project Supervisor assures that the entry adheres to the rules and regulations and provides constructive criticism and general guidance.
